About our Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine learning

The Certificate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning is designed to get you started on the path of data science and machine learning. Built with iHUB DivyaSampark @IIT Roorkee, this program will teach you the fundamentals and aspects of data science and machine learning while equipping you with the proper knowledge to implement and apply these concepts to real-world problems. Learn data mining and machine learning tools with Python and how to use data-driven insights to positively impact organizational growth in this 5-month program designed by acclaimed IIT faculty members.

This data science program will enable learners to build a strong foundation in data science and specialize in machine learning with Python for data-driven decision-making. Through this program, we aim to develop professionals who can provide meaningful insights from data and help businesses make the right decisions for growth.

The program will be delivered live through online sessions with the top faculty of India. The faculty belong to IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Ropar and other premier institutes. Under the Digital India support scheme, iHUB DivyaSampark@ IIT Roorkee will provide a platform for enthusiastic startup-minded learners to pitch their startup idea and get funding support. Program coordinated by Dr Balasubramanian – selected as top ML faculty in India:

This program will be coordinated by Dr Balasubramanian Raman who has been selected as the top academician in data science and ML. Dr Balasubramanian Raman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He is also a Joint Faculty in the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIT Roorkee.

The program certificate will be issued collectively by iHUB DivyaSampark @ IIT Roorkee, Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Imarticus Learning under The National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The course covers Python programming from scratch so it doesn’t expect programming expertise. However, basic programming knowledge will help you pick up the concepts faster. If you do not have programming exposure at all, you will have to put extra effort into learning programming concepts.

About Program

You will learn through live online sessions with faculty from IIT and other premier institutes. The industry experts will help you learn practical applications of data science concepts to real-world problems. There will be more than 10 exercises and projects. During the online sessions, you will get an opportunity to discuss with peers from different professional backgrounds and experiences. Your doubts will be resolved in live sessions to help you learn. There will be assessments to help you identify gaps and improve on them.

Every live session will be recorded and the recordings will be available for your reference on the learning platform. If you missed a class, you can go through the recorded session and cover the topics. Though, we recommend not missing any class for effective learning.

It is recommended that you attend each live training session. However, you need to attend at least 80% of the live sessions to be eligible for certification.

Once you have submitted your interest in the program, our advisor will connect with you and help you understand the program better. The advisor will take your academic and professional details. Your profile will be reviewed and you will receive an admission offer if your profile meets all the criteria.

This program helps learners become ready for data-driven decision making roles.
